Stupid ice!

I decided to get the motorcycle running yesterday.  It was sunny and just above freezing.  The streets were dry even though they were flanked by three-foot-high snowbanks.
I spent ten minutes digging Bonecrusher out of a snowbank, installed the battery, oiled the chain, and with some minor futzing got the machine started.
I carefully pushed the motorcycle down [...]

Stupid thumb!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my first checkup in about five years.  Everything went more or less smoothly.  My blood test came back with slightly high cholesterol and no nasty diseases (then again I haven’t been raw dogging Haitian prostitutes).  No fingers or medical implements were inserted in my ass and I think both my [...]

So a man walks into a doctor’s office…

I saw the hand specialist today. He wasn’t pleased with my injury. I had to get a CT scan so that he could figure out how to tackle my thumb which is apparently full of bone fragments.

I’ll crush you with my mind

I had my surgery a week-and-a-half ago.  I was told to not have anything to eat or drink after midnight the night before (or to get wet or to expose myself to sunlight), there was no mention about drinking before midnight.
I met up with an old friend in London that I hadn’t seen in a [...]

Frankenthumb

I drove out to the Hand and Upper Limb Clinic (HULC) in London today to see my doctor for a checkup.
As always the waiting room was packed with at least fifty people.  Over my several visits I’ve observed that attractive people do not injure their hands and upper limbs.  I took a vacant chair near [...]

Success!

Every day since my surgery I’ve attempted to squeeze the clutch on Bonecrusher with my injured paw.  I always fail.  That is, I always failed until yesterday.  My hand is now strong enough to gingerly work the clutch.
My hand ached for about three hours afterward, but it was worth it.
Still no sign of the bionic strength [...]

I’m a cowboy…

Yesterday I decided it was time to get back on that steel horse I ride (thank you Bon Jovi for the metaphor).  This was the first time I had tried to start Bonecrusher since I dropped it a month ago.
I took the battery off the trickle charger and put it back on the bike.  I [...]
